On the 25.09. a meeting of the sub-sector group for seeds and seeding material was held on which a presentation and discussion of the 34 rulebooks were held. These Rulebooks were harmonized according to the latest amendments to the Law on seeds and seeding materials.
Due to the presence of relevant stakeholders, a discussion was held between the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Water Management, representatives of the seed and seedlings administration institutions, representatives from the business sector, academic representatives and representatives from the chambers of commerce in Macedonia.
As the next step of this phase, the Rulebooks were officially submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management for consideration and analysis, whereby they are still open for discussion and additional meetings will be organized with which these Rulebooks will be finalized.
This activity is realized within USAID's Project -Partnership for better business regulation which was implemented by EPI CENTAR International in cooperation with the four partners: Economic Chamber of Macedonia; Economic Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies - MASIT, Chamber of Commerce in North-West Macedonia and Macedonian Chambers of Commerce.
In addition, for the needs of this activity of the Project in the past quarter, a memorandum of cooperation was signed by EPI CENTAR International, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, as well as the IME Program - Program for increasing the market employability. It is aimed at improving the situation in agriculture, achieving long-term sustainable development and fostering the competitiveness of Macedonian agricultural production both on the domestic and foreign markets.
